RGS is sponsoring a second trip to Italy this spring for a week of making art and exploring the Tuscan countryside. Participants will stay in an Agriturismo on a former farm just south of Siena. The name of the agriturimo is Il Molinello, and you can see their website on-line. The trip is structured to appeal to both artists and non-artists.
Join Barbara Merfeld Campman at our annual workshop where children and adults drop in and make an Angel, a Beast, a Shepherd,
or a King. Donate one of your creations to the RGS scholarship fund and take the
other one home. Good for the soul, good for the school, and good for our
world. Materials are provided, but feel free to bring some of your own. All works for sale will be displayed in the December Gallery Walk exhibit.
Every month, a selection of artwork from the school's classes or instructors is shown in our gallery space, with an opening on Gallery Walk held yearly on the first Friday evening of the month. Our studios and gallery are seen by hundreds of visitors each month during this popular event. Visitors are able to see not only the results of the creative work of the students, but also the working environment. More Information on Brattleboro's Gallery Walk
June Gallery Walk: Faces of the Farm
June is local farm month at RGS. Students of all ages in various classes have been working on portraits and scenes from local farms. Many are paintings; some are prints, oil pastels, drawings, and sculptures. The show opens at Gallery Walk on Friday evening, June 7th, (the day before the Strolling of the Heifers on June 8th), and will hang through June. Come by the schools gallery space and see our interpretations of some of our local heroes. The second floor gallery at 32 Main Street is accessible by stairs or elevator (enter at 30 Main Street).
Thanks to the Brattleboro Food Coop, who shared photos of local producers, Bob George, and lots of other photographers who lent us images for inspiration.
