Jen grew up in Brooklyn, NY, where she developed a deep appreciation for the diversity of cultures, people, food, and, of course, art. She is now a Brattleboro-based multimedia artist, creating mosaics, jewelry, acrylic paintings, and encaustics. Her early art training began with a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education at Penn State University, with an emphasis in ceramics, taught by Chris Staley. While at Penn State, she taught wheel-thrown pottery to children and later helped organize and run the first children’s summer art program at the Arts and Crafts Center on campus.
She later owned and operated The Clay Way in Keene, NH, a paint-your-own pottery studio that also offered mosaics and wheel-thrown pottery lessons. The Clay Way provided a studio space for people of all ages to come create, and there Jen also ran an afterschool program for children from the Keene Middle School. Jen continues to teach and learn at River Gallery School of Art, and is also a member of Brattleboro-West Arts. Visit Jen's website.
