In this workshop students will learn the basics of creating an etching using a prepared, light-sensitive polymer plate. Photopolymer etching is a simple and safer alternative to creating traditional etchings, using UV light to expose an image and water to process the plate. On the first day of this workshop, students will create their imagery using any number of techniques including (but not limited to) collage, drawing, photography and digital imagery programs. On the second day, students will create their plates using an UV exposure unit and print their plates using the RGS etching press. Students are encouraged to bring imagery they would like to work from. The final size of the imagery will be 5” x 7”. Plates, paper and ink will be provided.

Meets: Saturday + Sunday, 1 - 4 pm
