Community Lantern-Making Workshop Series for the Confluence Project, led by Gowri Savoor
co-organized by the Connecticut River Conservancy, River Gallery School, and Green River Watershed Alliance
Come help us to celebrate International Fish Migration Day! Connecticut River Conservancy and area partners will hold The Confluence Paddle again on May 16, 2020. The public is invited to participate in this community event by making lanterns at one of two community workshops prior to the evening paddle. Paper lantern making workshops will be offered by Gowri Savoor on Thursday, May 2 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and Patty Johnson on Thursday, May 7th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the River Gallery School. We encourage community members to also join us for the paddle on May 16 by bringing their own boats and PFDs to launch from the Marina Restaurant or renting a canoe or kayak from the Vermont Canoe Touring Center. Come to this hands-on workshop to make a beautiful luminary for a lantern-lit paddle on the West River in May !
Open to families and community members.
During this 2-hour workshop participants will create paper lanterns for the moonlit Confluence Lantern Paddle on May 16th. Participants are encouraged to join the paddle on land or water. Participants can take their lanterns home after the paddle event.
Saturday 1 – 4 pm
$10 per person or $20 per family - limited to 20 participants. Pre-registration required.
