Brattleboro was once well known for its printing history, being a center for book production. In this class students will combine relief and transfer printmaking techniques with mark making to create one of a kind pieces filled with images of Brattleboro's historic buildings. Using relief letterpress printing materials and xerox transfer techniques students will creatively use historic and modern materials to build images that explore the special connection to Brattleboro'a printing history past. Students will make images to take home and will also add their images to the creation of a larger poster of combined pieces that will be displayed as part of the National Endowment for the Humanities Brattleboro WORDS Project.
