The Printmaking Folio Project is a collaborative printmaking project. Students will work as a group to come up with a theme, subject, or idea and each student will make a print based on the chosen theme. Students will decide on the parameters of the project - format, techniques, and edition size - and create a folio (a loosely bound collection of prints), including title and end pages. The first half of the course will be devoted to learning some printmaking techniques and developing the imagery and the second half will be devoted to printing and binding the edition. Each student will come away with one full set of the edition, which includes one print from each participant. This is a great way to work together with other artists and walk away with some great prints made by your peers. Previous printmaking experience is helpful but not necessary.
