Become a Sequencing Teacher

Have you enjoyed a Sequencing workshop and want to deepen your understanding of this practice and the philosophy of creativity on which it is based? Or perhaps you want to share the joy of the Sequencing experience with others? Teaching sequencing requires a broad understanding of the underlying philosophy and approach.  Join us for our Sequencing Teacher Training 4-day workshop to learn how to lead Sequencing workshops in a supportive, inclusive, and effective way.

This workshop offers a deeper immersion into the Sequencing approach, allowing participants to explore and discuss the underlying concepts and philosophy of “teaching art” and supporting creativity. We will share the things we have learned and observed over many years of working with Sequencing, as well as teach the nuts and bolts of presenting a workshop.

Sequencing is a way for both beginners and more experienced art makers to enter the process of painting at a deep and direct level. Through this process, Sequencing allows you to engage in creating art without self-doubt or other barriers that can inhibit creativity. You engage directly with the paint, surface and tools in a very immediate and tactile way.

Sequencing quickly identifies important elements in our creative work, momentarily suspends part of our thought process, and allows us to begin work without the burdens of self-doubt, memory, and desire. It helps to free us from the idea that quality artwork is wholly dependent on technique.

Sign up for the annual 4-day workshop to become certified to teach Sequencing in your area. The 2026 dates are June 25 – 28, Thursday through Sunday.

Payment plans and tuition assistance available.

Students can enjoy 10% off their entire stay at the historic Latchis Hotel. Contact RGS to receive the booking code.
