Portraits can tell us more than just the person’s physical appearance. Portraits can convey personality, culture, livelihood and interests. They may be delicate or exaggerated, realistic or fanciful. Learning the art of portraiture can include the placement and shape of facial features, the subtleties of color temperature, mixing a rainbow of flesh tones, and the importance of edges. Join us for a portraiture class or workshop, or for our weekly portrait studio, Local Faces.
This monthly drop-in group is for those that want to practice painting or drawing portraits from a live model in a casual and friendly atmosphere. This group provides camaraderie rather than instruction.
Models are members of our community who volunteering their time to sit for the 2.5 hour experience – with breaks. Please call or email us if you are interested in modeling!
