Healing Arts
We offer gently guided artmaking sessions as a way to explore emotions, trauma and inner transformation. We offer art classes that include meditation, reflective writing and ways of addressing grief and other mental health issues.

The Art for Social Change program offers free classes focused on the healing potential of expressive art and mindfulness for marginalized populations and community caregivers. We work with other service organizations to create meaningful classes together throughout the year. These classes have included in the past exploring grief; social justice; and LGBTQ issues. We offer a class that combines meditation and art making, exploring art as process rather than a product. Each class will start with Quigong, a moving meditation, and a 20 minute guided meditation, after which you will move silently into responding to the available materials and suggestions.
We offer a variety of classes that combine writing and image making, both as a reflective process. Sometimes these elements are combined in an art journal class or in a word and image collage class. We utilize poetry, stream of consciousness writing and art making to explore our lives and emotions.
We offer classes and workshops in creating a personally significant sculptural figure. You will have the opportunity to work with found objects, cloth, wool roving, and clay. Dolls have existed since the beginning of humankind, and in every corner of the globe, serving as companions and playthings but also as containers of ancient wisdom, healing and transformational powers.
