September 2025: Lydia Thomson

Fieldwork

Opening:
Friday, September 5th at 5 pm

Lydia Thomson, artist and teacher

This group of paintings was inspired by walking through the fields at home in Townshend. There’s always something – beautiful, odd, interesting – to stop and notice.

She also work with still life, abstract forms, and experiments with whatever comes to hand. Although her artwork takes many different forms, it all is concerned with ‘finding’. Each foray begins in the unknown and struggles toward the light.

In her teaching at River Gallery School, she tries to support each artist’s journey toward self-expression. She’s grateful for the opportunity to work with people exploring their creativity in an environment that resonates with her core beliefs.

She has had solo and group shows in New England and has work in many private collections.
