Perhaps because members of her family fled Nazi Germany, and her great grandmother, her daughter and son, could not flee, and died in the allied bombing, Lori is drawn to paint portraits of those suffering in wars.

Orly paints still lifes, landscapes, and figures in oils. She takes inspiration from the hills, rivers, and forest of Vermont and the salt marshes and ocean of Martha’s Vineyard.

The Gathering Place (Brattleboro Area Adult Day Services) is an Adult Day Program serving older adults and adults with disabilities in downtown Brattleboro. The Gathering Gallery contains selected works created by participants of all ages and abilities.

As a gardener and designer by trade, Helen O'Donnell is deeply inspired by the collaborative process of nature, how the living participants in all landscapes, from the plants to the humans to the fungi, are all constantly encountering.
